Welcome to the University of Bristol Rugby Football Club Alumni

Founded in 1876, University of Bristol RFC is one of the oldest and largest sports societies within the university. With over 140 current members, and an extensive alumni network, joining UBRFC means more than just pulling on a shirt every week. Every time you step on that turf, you represent over 130 years of clubmen, joining the likes of England Sevens' captain Tom Mitchell, RWC winners Josh Lewsey and Kyran Bracken and Bristol Bears' Dave Attwood in pulling on the maroon and white.

Join us and reconnect with old friends. Share in making new memories and support UBRFC as an 1876 Member.

THE

MISSION

How can the 1876 Club help make our Vision and Goals real?

"The 1876 Club" is to be an Alumni Membership club affording members an opportunity to connect, reminisce and share in the Values and Memories of UBRFC.

The aim is to provide a consistent stream of news and events to create connection and value amongst the old boys network, whilst affording the opportunity to explore new prospects and generate funding through subscriptions, competitions, auctions, various events and charitable donations.

Current Student Benefits: the initiative will endeavour to increase communication and connection between alumni and current students, enabling networking opportunities for work experience and potential careers as clubmen move on from the University of Bristol

Former Student Benefits: we will connect Alumni not only with each other, affording the opportunity to reminisce on past occasions, but also encourage business networking with fellow past Alumni. In addition to this we will connect the Alumni with current students and club news via a range of social media channels and exciting events, varying from casual catch ups and traditional fixtures, to dinners and networking recruitment opportunities.

Performance Maroon Rugby Scholarships

With aspirations to play rugby at the highest level in BUCS Super Rugby, in addition to supporting individual players in reaching their potential in the professional game. UBRFC aims to be a performance leading club, and for student athletes who demonstrate exceptional sporting ability and high personal values, we aim to provide both performance and financial support to aid them in reaching their academic and sporting goals.

Performance Resources

Donations

UBRFC aims to provide performance and training resources to afford every player the opportunity to grow and develop on and off the field, gaining a unique learning and playing experience within a well-resourced rugby club.

This requires a substantial amount of support in the form of professional coaching, management, physical preparation and medical care. Alongside performance analysis resources, performance living support and a vast amount of kit and equipment to run the largest rugby club in Bristol.

Club Facilities

Donations

UBRFC aims to provide a home and the necessary facilities for every team to be able to train and play at their best.

This requires quality field access, such as a modern AWP 3G pitch, smart floodlighting, large gym facilities, appropriate changing and hospitality spaces, and suitable training and playing fields all year round.
