Since 2024 the rugby club has been in partnership with Bristol Bears to ensure that the club gives their students the best possible chance of being a professional athlete along side a Russell Group university degree.
The men’s side currently has 6 sides, 4 playing in the University BUCS leagues with the 1st XV sitting in the Premier South league and the 2nd XV sitting one league below in Premier 2.
The rugby at the University is not just performance with 4th and 5th both being development and social teams and our 6th team playing in our in house Intramural league versus other university faculty sides.
The club is reaped in history from club president and ex RFU president Bob Reeves current World Rugby member Johnathan Webb to World Cup winners Josh Lewsey and Kyran Bracken to more recently Sam Jefferies, Dave Attwood and Tom Mitchell having worn the University shirt and have sung the famous “I am a Bristol man”.
